The Persian cats originates from the Iranian plateau, traditionally known as “Persia” in the West, corresponding to the central territories of the Persian Empire.

A White Persian has very long thick fur with soft undercoat, longer guard hairs and plumed tail. The cat also has short thick legs, wide round head with the ears set far apart and an extremely short muzzle. There are three varieties of White Persian: orange-eyed, blue-eyed and odd-eyed. The odd-eyed, with one orange and one blue eyed, is the result of interbreeding the other two varieties.

The White Persian is a loving and affectionate cat. The cat can have a temper and can be demanding of affection but generally it has a calm nature and is more tranquil and less active then many breed.

Intensive brushing with soft-bristle brush is needed daily for this longhaired cat to prevent matting. A balanced diet that includes meat with cooked rice and vegetable are recommended. Multi-vitamins supplement are also advised.
